Each week, we will be spotlighting one of our 48 chapters across the country. The students on these campuses work very hard to accomplish the pillars of a Timmy Chapter: Serve, Advocate, Fundraise. This week we are featuring the University of Southern Indiana.
“Our campus has had a great response to Timmy and it’s mission.” said Lexi Schue, who is USI’s chapter president.
USI is one of our newer chapters, having been on campus for a little over a year. Lexi and some other students are looking forward to their pilot trip with the University of South Carolina in January. There is a lot of interest overall in going on a medical service trip in the future.
“We have also had over 40 members confirm that they want to go on a trip in the near future.” Says Schue.
The group is planning a letter campaign to receive donations from family and friends. They also have plans for “Trick or Treat for Vitamins” where they will ask for vitamin donations for their trips.
The USI group has done significant work in their community, volunteering with the United Way and the Red Cross. Like all of our chapters, these leaders are looking to make a global impact.
“We are most excited about the impact our chapter has already made in our community, and about the impact we will make in the future in both our community and an international community.”
