Medical Programs Coordinator - Chontapunta, Ecuador
Stephanie graduated from Florida International University in Miami with a degree in International Relations with a focus on Latin American and Caribbean studies. Immediately after graduation, she joined the Peace Corps in Ecuador where she served as a youth and families volunteer in Palmar, Santa Elena. During her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer, she developed several sustainable micro-enterprise projects and facilitated public health lessons including HIV/AIDS prevention and hygiene campaigns. Following the Peace Corps, Stephanie returned to the United States and completed her Master’s in Public Health at the University of New England.
After obtaining her degree, Stephanie spent two years at the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County as the Healthiest Weight Florida Coordinator. While there, she implemented projects focused on health equity and chronic disease prevention. Specifically, she worked with community partners to develop areas such as food deserts.
Stephanie is excited to be back living in Ecuador with Timmy as a Medical Programs Coordinator in the Amazon Basin. She enjoys all things public health, running, the beach and spending time with her toddler.
