Sarah Batta

Sarah Batta

Director of Service and Education

Indianapolis, IN

Sarah is thrilled to join the Timmy team as our Director of Service and Education. In this position she serves as a support for medical service trips, oversees Timmy’s relationship to its many chapters, and plans the annual Student Leadership Conference.

A native Hoosier, Sarah grew up on a dairy farm in southeastern Indiana. She joins Timmy after having returned from South Africa in her third Peace Corps service. She also served twice in Mali, West Africa. From her three services, she brings many experiences and skills: eating with her hands, sitting on the ground for extended periods of time, extensive nonverbal communication skills, an unwavering passion for global health, virtual and in-person training design, and experience in maternal and child health, malnutrition prevention, HIV transmission prevention, and sex education.

Sarah received her Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University’s Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences Department dually in Health Education and Communication and Maternal and Child Health; so in addition to a global health prevention mindset, she has an endless supply of Mardi Gras beads and regularly craves po’ boy sandwiches.

Sarah thoroughly enjoys people watching, making others laugh, and jogging so slow that speed walkers pass her. Sarah thrives on people interaction, so feel free to send her an email!
