Ray Horn

Long-Term Volunteer

Indianapolis, IN

Dr. Ray Horn has lived in Indianapolis since 1983 while engaging in the private practice of clinical neuropsychology until his recent retirement. He grew up in South Dakota , attended Grinnell College, Stanford University and Duke University along with a stint of teaching chemistry at Wabash College.

Ray’s first involvement with Timmy was a Friends of Timmy brigade to Xela Guatemala in 2017. He has gone on three additional brigades and has hopes of assisting at each of Timmy’s international sites. There is an historical connection with the organization via his daughter, Katherine, who worked for Timmy as International Programs Coordinator after active involvement in the Timmy Chapter at IU Bloomington.

Timmy’s commitment to continuity of care in individual communities, its effective and efficient use of electronic medical records, and the enthusiastic involvement and caring of its medical and student volunteers convinced him that greater involvement with Timmy as a long term volunteer was his ideal “retirement job.”

One of Ray’s current major Timmy activities is medical professional recruiting , while also providing assistance to the dispensary and to the annual student conference, TimmyCon.

Ray is married to Wendy Myres and they have two adult children, Raymond and Katherine. Maddie, a yellow lab, and cats Lily and Paige share the house. Favorite hobbies are cooking with new and interesting recipes, and fly fishing.
