Non-Profit Management and International Programming Fellow
Heidi was born and raised in the Hoosier State and received her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Policy from IU, so naturally, she’s an Indiana University Basketball fan.
Her interest in global health began during a medical brigade to Swaziland. At the time Heidi had the intention of becoming a hospital administrator, but while she was in Swaziland she noticed not only a need for adequate healthcare services and facilities, but also programs that help to prevent the spread of disease. Upon returning to school the following semester, Heidi refocused her career goals and wrote an Honors Thesis focused on identifying why certain populations are more susceptible to HIV and how these factors influence the success of alleviation efforts. Through this research, Heidi became passionate about the role of technology in healthcare and dedicated to developing tech solutions in the global health programming arena.
Immediately prior to arriving at Timmy, Heidi had been working for Cerner Corporation, an electronic medical record company. She hopes to use her knowledge and experience in Information Technology and Healthcare to work with Timmy Global Health and affect meaningful change in healthcare as a part of her daily work.
Heidi is also happy to be back in Indiana and closer to friends and family. In her free time, you will find her exploring Indianapolis, cooking, reading, or playing with her adorable puppy!
