Medical Programs Coordinator - Misahuallí & Chontapunta, Ecuador
Amazon Basin, Ecuador
Ariana first heard about Timmy Global Health while working in Quito, Ecuador serving indigenous at-risk communities to diminish child labor in major markets.
This is where she fell in love with Ecuador, its people and its culture. After taking part in the Chontapunta brigade in March 2015, Ariana joined the Timmy team as Medical Programs Coordinator for the Napo Province in Ecuador. From a Honduran mother and a French-Brazilian father, Ariana was raised in over ten countries around Latin America, Asia and the Pacific due to her father’s work as a humanitarian worker and human rights advocate with the United Nations. Since graduating with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal, she has worked in the US, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Ecuador with local NGOs focusing on the rights and needs of children in deprived communities. Through her work, she has developed a passion for public health and community development, which she is thrilled to now share with Timmy and the communities it serves. Ariana is fluent in Spanish, English and French, and enjoys scuba diving as a certified dive master. In the future, she hopes to pursue a Masters degree in Public Health and continue to learn and be inspired by different cultures around the world.
