US Programs Manager
Ali joins the Timmy Global Health team with a wealth of experience in program and fund development having worked primarily with different youth-serving and educational nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Costa Rica over the last ten years. An Indiana native, Ali completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at DePauw University in 2006, where she also completed the Media Fellows program, a Communications honors program. She went on to complete a Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University in 2008, and upon completion of her graduate degree, she traveled to Costa Rica where she spent the last five years working with at-risk youth in some of the most underserved neighborhoods in San Jose.
Returning to the U.S. in 2015, Ali continued to support underserved youth and build her knowledge around educational disparities in the U.S. through a Graduate Fellowship with Education Pioneers at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy in Los Angeles. Deciding to return to her Hoosier roots, she worked in Indianapolis as an Education Specialist at La Plaza coordinating college and career readiness programming for Latino youth and with TeenWorks supervising a group of low-income, inner city youth for a summer youth employment program before joining Timmy.
She is excited to expand upon her experience internationally and in education to help Timmy empower the next generation of global health leaders. When Ali is not volunteering with Young Life or at her church, you can probably find her salsa dancing or trying out different ethnic cuisine around Indianapolis.
